JAN + BARRY
Jan and Barry met at the Swiss Villa in 1979, living across the hall from each other in #3 and #4.
Barry would spy out his window and wait for jan to leave for a casual ‘run in’.
BOY MEETS GIRL
During a ski trip in 1980, Jan injured her knee and was hospitalized. Barry visited her everyday, decorated her hospital bed, and painted a rose on her cast. At this point, it was safe to say Jan was interested.

When Barry convinced Jan to have a dinner date, the first meal he cooked for Jan was a packet of premade fondue with birds eye mixed vegetables on the side.
(The family continues to eat fondue every Valentine’s Day and Wedding Anniversary.)
FONDUE
Jan and Barry got married September 7th 1985 at the Netherland Plaza in Cincinnati Ohio surrounded by lifelong friends and family.

In 1985 J+B moved to their first house on Cornell Circle in Denver.
CORNELL HOUSEIn 1992 Hannah Mae Merten was born on February 11th in Denver, Colorado!

In 1996 the expanding family moved to E. Easter Pl. in Homestead. There was no shortage of time before Barry began ripping things apart.
